Should they get past Coventry in the second leg, they will then play Sheffield United in the final.

The Blades demolished Bristol City over two legs by a 6-0 scoreline and they await the winners of the second semi.

Ahead of the game, the Black Cats took to X to announce that the stadium is sold out for the game.

More than 46,000 supporters will be in attendance to cheer on the hosts.

They wrote: “SOLD OUT! A cauldron of noise awaits on Wearside, with more than 46,500 supporters set to back the Lads.”

Sunderland must remain professional and get the job done

Sunderland are favourites to advance past Coventry City due to their 2-1 first-leg victory and the electric atmosphere expected from a sell-out crowd of over 46,000 fans.

Goals from Isidor and Mayenda, who have combined for 29 goal contributions this season, showcased Sunderland’s attacking threat despite a five-game losing streak prior to the first leg.

To remain professional and secure a place in the final, Sunderland must maintain the defensive discipline displayed in the first leg, where Dan Ballard was a rock and capitalise on Coventry’s vulnerable away defence.

Regis Le Bris should emphasize tight marking on Jack Rudoni and Haji Wright to limit Coventry’s attacking output.

By doubling down on their high work rate, exploiting home advantage and avoiding complacency, the Black Cats can leverage their lead and fan support to professionally dispatch a Coventry side that hasn’t lost at the Stadium of Light in five visits.
