Sunderland make ‘incredible’ Bradley Lowery gesture ahead of Premier League season

Sunderland are itching to start their Premier League campaign after the official fixture list announcement.

The Black Cats have been handed a favourable run of opening games, with West Ham starting things at the Stadium of Light.

That will be followed by a trip to Burnley and then another home game with managerless Brentford.

Now, the Bradley Lowery Foundation have confirmed that Sunderland are to make a superb gesture for the charity.

Sunderland honour Bradley Lowery with executive box donation

Sunderland may be favourites to be relegated from the Premier League, but supporters will not care one bit.

The Wearsiders are riding a wave of jubilation after defeating Sheffield United with a late winner in the play-off final.

Now, they are preparing for life in the top flight, with Kristjaan Speakman busy hunting for potential transfer deals.

With all that going on in the background, there has been some wholesome news shared by the Bradley Lowery Foundation on X (23 June).

They have revealed that there will be a Bradley Lowery Foundation Executive Box at the Stadium of Light next season.

The charity says: “We are absolutely over the moon to announce that Sunderland AFC are kindly donating our executive box for yet another season.

“We can’t thank the club enough for all of their incredible support.”

Sunderland will travel to Everton on Lowery’s birthday, and the Toffees made a tribute to the fixture with a touching announcement.

Bradley has been honoured by Everton before, appearing as mascot for the Toffees, and the Merseyside club donated £200,000 to his fundraising campaign.

Bradley Lowery box a fitting gesture ahead of Premier League season

The Bradley Lowery Foundation Executive Box is the perfect way to mark the Black Cats’ return to the Premier League.

The charity was established in August 2017, after Lowery lost his life to Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

Lowery formed a close friendship with former Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe while the striker was at the Stadium of Light.

Their mission is to support children and families by funding treatments, specialist equipment not covered by the NHS, and providing grants.

They are now opening up their booking for the box for children who have an illness or disability and are also Sunderland fans.

Furthermore, they are also opening the opportunity for young adults who are diagnosed with terminal cancer.

For those who wish to make a booking or enquire, they can contact the email address in the thread of the X post.
