Sunderland line up another new signing alongside Jhon Lucumi as huge bid submitted
Sunderland have two signings in their sights before the end of the transfer window.
Bologna defender Jhon Lucumi has been targeted for Sunderland throughout the window as Regis Le Bris looks to strengthen his back line.
To this point, Sunderland have brought in Nordi Mukiele from PSG and Omar Alderete from Getafe as centre-back options at the Stadium of Light.
With that being said, Lucumi remains a key option for the Black Cats, but further business could be completed by Florent Ghisolfi and Co.
This could see the Colombia international be joined by another signing in the north east with just days remaining until the 1 September deadline.

Jhon Lucumi could spark last-gasp double deal
Bologna are seemingly ready to sell Lucumi to Sunderland after managing to keep hold of the 27-year-old to this point in the window.
With that being said, the Mackems’ need to sign a defender took a step up after Dan Ballard was forced off against Burnley at Turf Moor.
As a result, the SR5 faithful will be pleased to hear that a deal for the Colombian defender is progressing and looks set to be done before deadline day.
Stat per 90 (Serie A 24/25) | Jhon Lucumi |

Duels won | 4.27 |
Interceptions | 0.90 |
Recoveries | 6.06 |
This comes after Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie reported on 29 August that Sunderland remain hopeful of signing Lucumi from Bologna.
After submitting a £24million offer, a switch from the Serie A to the Premier League looks increasingly likely.
This could see the former Genk man be joined by another signing as the hierarchy is set to hold talks with potential signings this week, with a forward being eyed.
Sunderland in desperate need for forward signing
There is no getting away from the fact that Lucuimi could be the signing that could transform the red and white outfit this summer.
With that being said, the preference to this defensive signing could prove to scupper the Mackems in the long term due to the lack of striker depth.
Although Eliezer Mayenda and Marc Guiu have potential and could hit the ground running in the Premier League, they are far from the complete package.
As a result, bringing in a new forward with true top-level experience would certainly be a huge boost to survival chances after a mixed start in the opening two games.
