Sunderland in VIP treatment with £20m-plus Konstantinos Karetsas transfer expected in January
Sunderland’s recent transfer window made a statement of intent that they are in the Premier League to compete.
Sunderland made 10 additions in the transfer window and spent over £100million on players after being promoted to the top flight.
After six league games, Regis Le Bris‘ side have been defeated just once, and recorded three wins along with two draws.
Although the Black Cats were busy in the summer, the January transfer window will provide another opportunity to boost the quality of their squad, with Sunderland already linked with new players in the winter window.

Konstantinos Karetsas is on the transfer radar
Sunderland strengthened their flanks through the signings of Simon Adingra, Chemsdine Talbi and Bertrand Traore in the summer.
But Regis Le Bris could further add to this department through Greek winger Konstantinos Karetsas.
The 17-year-old currently plays for Genk in Belgium, and featured 39 times last season as his side went on to finish third in the Jupiler Pro League.
He also came off the bench in Rangers’ Europa League opening loss as the Belgians went on to win 1-0 in Glasgow.
Sunderland, Everton, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Liverpool were all reportedly in the VIP seats at Ibrox as all maintain their interest in the winger.
A £20million fee has been attached with the Greek international, and Genk are expected to sell the player on for a profitable sum.

Healthy competition for Chemsdine Talbi
Sunderland’s fine start has been characterised by a team coached with discipline and ruthlessness.
Regis Le Bris knows his team does not have the capacity to overwhelm most teams in the league, and when a chance comes their way they must convert it.
Sunderland’s recent victory against Nottingham Forest highlighted this style of play, as the Mackems only registered 35 per cent possession in their 1-0 victory.

Although these stats on paper do not look remarkable, Talbi has clocked the sixth most amount of minutes for Sunderland in the league this season.
Talibi is a key player for Regis Le Bris’ team and he is at the forefront of their counter-attacking style of play.
So, to maintain his high level, bringing in competition such as Karetsas will ensure standards within the Sunderland squad will remain high.
