‘Sunderland in pole position to sign Loic Bade’ as Ghisolfi ready for reunion
Sunderland may have completed a host of new signings, but they need defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.
The Black Cats have significantly strengthened their midfield, with Habib Diarra a club-record signing from RC Strasbourg.
Reinildo Mandava is the only defensive acquisition for Sunderland so far this summer, with several players out injured.
Now, the Wearsiders have turned their attentions to Sevilla centre back Loic Bade, who played against them just days ago.

Florent Ghisolfi to prize Bade to Sunderland
Ghisolfi was brought to the Stadium of Light to aid Sunderland’s recruitment drive in a fascinating move by the North East club.
The Black Cats already possessed Kristjaan Speakman as sporting director, but this proactive approach is seemingly paying off.
Ghisolfi was previously at AS Roma with Enzo Le Fee before the midfielder agreed on a move to the Stadium of Light.
Now, the Frenchman is interested in bringing Bade to the Stadium of Light, according to Foot Mercato (20 July).

Indeed, Ghisolfi brought Bade back to RC Lens and appreciates the defender as Sunderland eyes defensive reinforcements.
It is reported that the Black Cats’ chief thought of the 25-year-old when he was in charge at Roma.
However, Bournemouth are also keen on the centre back, while Olympique Marseille and Villareal are keeping a close eye.
Aston Villa have been previously linked with Bade, but Tottenham are not interested in the Frenchman.

Bade in demand as Black Cats need defenders
The Black Cats have taken a bold transfer approach this summer, having made a series of eye-catching signings.
However, the defence needs to be bolstered if the Wearsiders are to build a solid foundation next season.
Le Bris will be without a host of defenders for the start of the Premier League campaign, with Luke O’Nien, Dennis Cirkin, Aji Alese, and Leo Hjelde all injured.
While Jhon Lucumi is a top priority for Sunderland, they are yet to make significant progress in landing him.
Last season, Bade made 32 La Liga appearances as the Spanish side swerved relegation by one point.
Now, he could be set to play in another relegation battle if Sunderland press on with signing him.
