Sunderland goalkeeper set for exit as new contract agreement emerges
Sunderland have already lost players following their Championship play-off final triumph over Sheffield United.
Jobe Bellingham departed for Borussia Dortmund, and Wembley hero Tommy Watson has finally signed for Brighton after a previous agreement.
While both exits weaken the Black Cats, they have signed Enzo Le Fee and are hellbent on securing more deals for the Premier League.
However, another player looks like he will be leaving the Stadium of Light after a recent contract update.

Sunderland goalkeeper has host of suitors outside Premier League
The goalkeeping position is an area Sunderland are targeting ahead of the new Premier League season.
Anthony Patterson has been Regis Le Bris’ preferred choice during his first season, although he has made some awful errors.
However, his play-off save is right up there with the greatest ever seen at the home of football.
As well as Patterson, Simon Moore has proved to be a reliable deputy when called upon in times of need.
Mexican international shot-stopper Luis Malagon has been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light, meaning departures could be on the cards.
One player who is attracting interest from clubs across the football pyramid is Dan Cameron, according to the Sunderland Echo (15 June).
Dan Cameron’s 2024/25 Premier League 2 statistics | Total |
Appearances | 7 |
Goals conceded | 8 |
Clean sheets | 3 |
Cameron impressed during his loan spell with Hebburn Town last season, gaining vital experience in the Non-League.
The outlet claim that clubs towards the bottom end of League Two, as well as clubs in the Non-League, are keen on a loan move for Cameron.
Cameron only just signed a one-year contract extension with Sunderland earlier this summer, but will not be a part of the first team squad.

Cameron boost set at Black Cats
At 19, Cameron is still very young, although within Sunderland’s ranks, he could be classed as middle-aged.
A loan move for the teenager would be beneficial as this is a route that has paved the way for Black Cats goalkeepers.
Jordan Pickford benefited from several loans in the EFL before being handed his starting berth in the Premier League.
Like Pickford, Patterson followed a similar route, and so did Matt Young, who spent last season with Salford City.
Of course, Cameron faces a tough task to dethrone Patterson and get ahead of Young, but a loan move can help him boost his ability.
