
Sunderland gem called up by England as official announcement made
Sunderland are soon to lose players to international action, with another now added to the list.
Club football will go on a temporary pause after this weekend’s fixtures as the March international break takes place.
The England senior team are scheduled to play two FIFA World Cup qualifiers, taking on Albania and Latvia.
The England U21s side will play two friendlies, meanwhile, against France U21 and Portugal U21. Meanwhile, the England U20s team will play against Portugal and Switzerland in the Elite league.

Matthew Young named in England Elite squad
The England FA announced the Elite squad for the upcoming round of international fixtures in the U20s International Elite League. A total of eight nations participate, sending their U20 teams to face each other – England, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Netherlands, France, Czech Republic and Romania.
The England U20 side are currently leading the table with 14 points in six games with Germany and Italy in second and third position with 12 and 10 points respectively.
The March round of fixtures will see the England’s Elite squad play their games in Iberia, first travelling to Portugal to play the Portugal U20 side and then to Spain to play against the Swiss side.
Ben Futcher’s squad has been announced and Sunderland gem Matthew Young has been included in the Elite League squad.

Young is currently on loan at Salford City and has impressed between the sticks, keeping seven clean sheets in 10 League Two games. In 900 minutes of League Two football, the 18-year-old has conceded just five goals.
Young is said to be one of the most promising prospects at Sunderland and he is progressing well during his loan spell at Salford.
Sunderland Loan report
Young is yet to make his debut for the senior team and is still a Sunderland U21s player. Along with Young, three more Sunderland U21 players are on loan.
Defenders Zak Johnson and Ben Crompton are on loan at Notts County and Tamworth. Attacking midfielder Caden Kelly is developing his skills at Darlington.
As for the senior Black Cats side, eight players are out on loan – Pierre Ekwah, Abdoullah Ba, Timothee Pembele, Adil Aouchiche, Nazariy Rusyn, Jay Matete, Nectarios Triantis and Nathan Bishop.
Ekwah has been a regular part of the Saint-Etienne, while Matete and Triantis have also regularly featured for Bolton and Hibernian. Aouchiche joined Portsmouth during the January transfer window and has already made seven appearances for Pompey.
The future is certainly bright, especially in the case of Young.
