Sunderland finally recognised for top flight exploits after Premier League announcement
Sunderland supporters do not need to be told how well their team are doing this season.
Many predicted Regis Le Bris’ side to struggle in the Premier League, but they already look oh so comfortable at the top table.
This Sunday, Sunderland could make history if they beat Aston Villa, as they have never won their opening three home games in the Premier League era.
Despite the Black Cats’ obvious success, they have gone relatively under the radar until now.

Sunderland to face Everton and Arsenal on TV in November
When Sunderland play Aston Villa on Sunday, it will be the first time they play in front of a televised audience this season.
All of the Wearsiders’ games so far have kicked off at 3pm, meaning supporters have had to find other ways to watch their beloved team.
However, it now appears that Le Bris’ side are being recognised for their superb form after the latest developments.
That is because Sunderland have announced that their games with Everton and Arsenal at the Stadium of Light will be televised.
- Monday 3 November: Sunderland vs Everton (8pm)
- Saturday 8 November: Sunderland vs Arsenal (5:30pm)
As a result, the kick-off times have been shifted, but it must be questioned why none of the opening four matches were given the same platform.

Sunderland deserve more respect from TV broadcasters
Leeds United and Burnley have both been televised, while the Black Cats lie in waiting.
Indeed, the Peacocks have been on TV twice, having played against Everton and Arsenal, while Burnley’s clash with Liverpool was also aired.
It could be argued that the Werasiders’ fixtures did not warrant being televised, but given the size of Sunderland’s fan base, questions must be asked.
Surely the opening game of the season against West Ham would have been the perfect match to be shown on TV, given the size of both teams and the intrigue around the fixture.
However, Sky Sports opted to air the mismatch between Wolves and Man City, while favouring the more successful clubs in the division.
The latest announcement is welcome news for Sunderland fans as their revolution will finally be televised.
