Sunderland Fantasy Premier League – Winners and losers from August
Sunderland’s bright start to the season may have altered several Fantasy Premier League teams already.
Sunderland had many cheap options for Fantasy Premier League this year, which was to be expected given the fact that they had just been promoted from the Championship.
Now, after Sunderland’s 2-1 victory against Brentford last time out, matched with their opening day triumph against the Irons, more users are adding Black Cats stars to their team.
With that in mind, Mackem News takes a look at which players thrived in August and which players forced changes.

Dan Ballard’s injury was a huge blow to Sunderland
The rise of Dan Ballard at Sunderland has been excellent to watch, and his performances have been replicated by the level of points he has picked up in FPL.
With 18 points, Ballard is Sunderland’s highest-scoring player in the game, despite having missed the last clash through injury.
- Dan Ballard – 18 points
- Robin Roefs – 17 points
- Wilson Isidor – 14 points
- Enzo Le Fee – 13 points
Robin Roefs has already impressed at the Stadium of Light, and he isn’t far behind him on 17 points, with Wilson Isidor third despite having yet to start a game for the Wearsiders this season.
Over 26,000 people have drafted Roefs into their Fantasy Premier League team ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, with 1.3 per cent of players now owning him.
Only four goalkeepers have scored more points than Roefs, while nine have scored more than Ballard, who has only played twice.

Eliezer Mayenda struggling to impress for Sunderland
Sunderland have failed to get Eliezer Mayenda involved much this season, though the Spaniard did score on his Premier League debut against West Ham.
So far, he has accumulated 12 FPL points, which, on the face of it, isn’t a bad return from three games.
However, with just short of 30,000 people drafting him out of their squad for this weekend’s round of encounters, he is certainly the worst off in that regard.
28,000 people have opted to bring Isidor into their squad, who could lead the line when Sunderland travel to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Just under 2,500 users have brought Sunderland’s deadline day signing Brian Brobbey into their team, though he is unlikely to have much of a part to play at Selhurst Park.
