Sunderland fans to be buzzing after Hurzeler reveal on Simon Adingra
Sunderland have completed the signing of Simon Adingra from Brighton, in a move many consider to be a coup.
Adingra was a target from the January transfer window, but the Black Cats have now secured their winger in a very exciting deal.
Sunderland have shown a lot of ambition in the transfer window, but Adingra is arguably the best signing of them all, given that he already has significant experience in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old was highly rated at Brighton, and manager Fabian Hurzeler has now praised him despite his exit.

Hurzeler praises Adingra after Sunderland transfer
Many were surprised that Adingra was allowed to leave, particularly for another Premier League side, but Brighton’s loss is Sunderland’s gain.
Some may consider Brighton’s willingness to let him go as something of a red flag, but Hurzeler had nothing but praise for the winger.
Speaking via the Sunderland Echo (July 13), Hurzeler claimed that Adingra was allowed to leave as Brighton have a lot of depth in his position, but he had no doubts about his quality.

“I have enjoyed working with Simon and he’s made a significant contribution during his time with the club,” he stated.
“However, he is at a stage in his career where he wants to be playing regularly.
“Given the competition we have in the wide positions, that’s not something we could guarantee.
“This move to Sunderland gives him that opportunity, so on behalf of everyone, I’d like to thank Simon for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”

Adingra is a superb signing for Sunderland
Adingra ticks every box for Sunderland, and could prove to be one of the best signings any Premier League club makes this summer.
At 23, the attacker fits the profile of player Sunderland have targeted this summer, with younger, high potential stars preferred to ageing veterans.
If Adingra performs well but Sunderland suffers relegation, he will have a lot of resale value, and he has the potential to significantly raise his value quickly.
Sunderland lost Tommy Watson to Brighton, but Adingra is far more ready to cope with top-flight football, and he comes with the added bonus that he can play on both wings.
