Sunderland fans fume over Le Bris decision v Millwall – ‘Shocking’

Regis Le Bris has named his Sunderland XI for their clash with Millwall, with one omission causing frustration among supporters.

With automatic promotion now seemingly off the cards, focus for Sunderland will be on taking momentum into the playoffs, having shortened a lack of form in recent weeks.

Sunderland simply need a win against Millwall to get back to winning ways, though it promises to be an interesting encounter given the minor rivalry between the two sides.

Alex Neil, now the Millwall manager, departed Sunderland only a few seasons ago, adding extra fuel to the fire of this clash.

With that in mind, Le Bris has named his starting 11 with the aim of taking all three points, with Sunderland fans sharing very similar sentiments.

Sunderland have six players confirmed to be out for the Millwall clash.

Injuries sustained over the international break have somewhat limited the Frenchman when it comes to team selection, with Dennis Cirkin perhaps the most notable absentee after he was withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad last week.

However, it is the attacking change that has caused the most frustration, with Elizer Mayenda dropped to the bench despite impressing in recent encounters.

Wilsin Isidor takes his place up front, with Sunderland fans questioning the decision.

Sunderland need to build momentum

If Sunderland fail to get promoted this season, it could have some fairly serious consequences when it comes to the future of players.

Several players have already been linked with summer exits, and if they were to remain in the championship, the likelihood is that many of those would depart.

Not only would it represent a consequence in that regard, but it would also be a massive disappointment to miss out on promotion after what was an excellent start to the campaign.

However, with the playoffs still to come, momentum will be key for Sunderland as they push for their return to the Premier League.
