Sunderland fans fume as player exit confirmed at Stadium of Light – ‘Dreadful’

Sunderland are in the process of securing moves away from Wearside for several players.

So far this summer, most of the focus has been on the incoming business at the Stadium of Light, with Sunderland securing six new arrivals with more to follow.

However, plenty of attention needs to be diverted to the future of those who are unlikely to have any real part to play in the Premier League.

With that in mind, Sunderland announced a loan exit for one of their highly rated youth players, and fans are less than impressed at his destination.

Matty Young finalises Salford move

Matty Young spent the previous campaign on loan at Salford, where he often found himself dropped to the bench, despite impressing in the first team.

That immediately led to fans questioning the management at Salford, and when it emerged that Sunderland would be seeking another loan move for him this summer, the hope was that he would be able to climb the English pyramid.

However, his return to the EFL club was confirmed today (24 July), and fans have had their say on the transfer, and it’s fair to say the general reaction isn’t good.

Sunderland set to sanction several more exits

The Black Cats have a lot of young players who need to be playing first-team football this season, meaning they will almost certainly look to make more use of the loan market.

Nectar Triantis is one who could depart, with several of the Under-23 players who have featured in pre-season also likely to be handed a loan move.

That exposure to men’s football often makes a player, and Sunderland will be well aware of that, with plenty of young, promising talent on their books at the Academy of Light.

However, several of those moves are likely to be put on hold until more first-team arrivals check in on Wearside.
