Sunderland fans blown away by latest kit reveal – ‘Flawless, nostalgia, history’

Sunderland do not seem to be doing much wrong in the build-up to the Premier League season.

Yes, Jobe Bellingham and Tommy Watson have departed the Stadium of Light, but that has not dampened spirits.

The Black Cats have spent over £100million in the transfer market to respond, with Habib Diarra a club-record signing for Sunderland.

Now, the Wearside faithful have every reason to get carried away after the latest announcement.

Now, the North East outfit have revealed their home shirt for the new campaign, which takes on a slightly different style.

This season, the Wearsiders will wear their badge in the centre of their strip, with Tottenham and Manchester City also taking this approach.

Sunderland legend Kevin Phillips featured in the promotional video, wearing a new red and white track jacket.

Furthermore, what looks like the new goalkeeper’s shirt was also modelled, although not by Anthony Patterson.

The new home shirt will go on sale this Friday (25 July) with the club shop opening at 8 am GMT.

Alternatively, supporters can purchase the shirt online following the link in the X post (24 July).

Black Cats intent on making more signings amid Granit Xhaka latest

Regis Le Bris has said that the North East club will be looking to make new signings after a deal for Armand Lauriente fell through.

Romaine Mundle recently underwent surgery on a hamstring injury, meaning the Black Cats are light on the left wing.

A deal to sign Granit Xhaka is proving tricky, though, with Bayer Leverkusen wanting around double what the Wearsiders offered.

There has been considerable hype around the Swiss international, and his signing would be met with praise, especially in this stunning new home strip.

However, given the 32-year-old’s age, the Black Cats cannot be held to ransom over the midfielder and face a key decision.

Elsewhere, a centre back is of paramount importance, given the long list of injuries in Le Bris’ back line.

With the Premier League creeping ever closer, there are still a couple of positions that need to be strengthened.
