Sunderland face possible FA action if Brentford report subtle Stadium of Light change

Sunderland beat Brentford 2-1 at the Stadium of Light to secure their second Premier League win of the season.

Enzo Le Fee impressed for Sunderland as his penalty was followed up by a stoppage-time winner from Wilson Isidor, to ensure that Sunderland completed a late comeback.

The Stadium of Light erupted as Isidor’s header found the back of the net in the 96th minute in a game that had many controversies, with Mike Dean weighing in on one of the decisions.

However, Sunderland could possibly now be in hot water if Brentford report the Black Cats for a change they made to their home ground before the match started.

‘Action will be taken’ if Sunderland’s antics are reported, says Keith Hackett

Prior to kick-off, one of Sunderland’s supporters, Michael Graham, spotted the advertising boards being moved in close to the pitch, perhaps to restrict the long throw-in from the visitors.

Whilst this may seem like a smart bit of gamesmanship from Sunderland, former referee Hackett warned that the Black Cats could face repercussions for their actions.

“Each club at the start of the season have to declare the size of the playing area. They will also indicate distance from the touchline to the advertising hoardings,” Hackett exclusively told Mackem News.

“Action will be taken if it is reported to the authorities. There was a time when clubs at times would narrow the pitch to reduce the impact of wide play.

“The Premier League stopped that by introducing appropriate regulations.”

Nordi Mukiele enjoyed a wonderful Premier League debut

Mukiele arrived from Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer for a reported fee of £10million.

The 27-year-old defender certainly hit the ground running as Mukiele impressed on his Premier League debut.

If he can continue to perform like this, perhaps Dan Ballard will find it hard to re-establish himself in the starting XI.
