Sunderland duo rightly immortalised as remarkable mural spotted on Wearside
Sunderland look set to recognise two significant moments in their history with a mural in the North-East.
Regis Le Bris is gearing up for his season in the Premier League with the Black Cats, and it is certainly exciting times for everyone of a red and white persuasion.
However, while the future is filled with optimism, fans will still be aware of the euphoria that emerged when Sunderland secured a promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
As a result, two of their play-off heroes are set to be immortalised as per images shared across social media.

Dan Ballard and Tommy Watson feature in new ‘Til the end mural at Sunderland
Sunderland have had their fair share of incredible moments throughout their history, but very few will top what happened in recent months.
Dan Ballard’s last-second equaliser against Coventry to send Sunderland to Wembley created some of the craziest scenes ever witnessed at the Stadium of Light.
- Ballard scored one second before full-time (121.59) to send Sunderland to Wembley.
Added to that, Tommy Watson’s 95th-minute goal against Sheffield United at Wembley presented the perfect parting gift for the Black Cats before his transfer to Brighton.
As a result, both players feature on a mural which is being created on Wearside, with fans set to have a constant reminder of the progress this club has made.
Sunderland can write more history this season
Le Bris is tasked with the challenge of keeping Sunderland in the Premier League, and to do so, he will have to defy the odds.
However, if that can be achieved, Sunderland will become the first club of the last six to be promoted to avoid relegation.
With the business done so far this summer, and still more to come, Sunderland certainly have a chance of achieving something special, and continuing the incredible progress they have made since Kyril Louis-Dreyfus took over.
