Sunderland concern raised as John Textor confirms next investment plan
Sunderland’s return to the Premier League has caught the attention of many around Europe.
Less than two months remain until Sunderland face West Ham in their first Premier League encounter since 2016, with plenty of work to be done before then.
Recruitment at the Stadium of Light is going to be crucial to their hopes of matching their ambitions for the new campaign, with plenty of investment needed.
With that in mind, the Black Cats could potentially be in line for a new route of investment amid claims from abroad.

John Textor eyes new investment opportunity
Sunderland are in safe hands under the ownership of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, and yet claims from abroad have suggested that the Black Cats could be an opportunity for John Textor to re-emerge on the scene of English football.
Textor has recently parted ways with Crystal Palace and has earned a negative reputation for himself as a result of Lyon’s financial troubles in France.
Textor confirmed in an interview on Saturday (28 June) that he is seeking new investment opportunities, including another club in England.
Gazetabotafogo suggested Everton, Brentford or Nottingham Forest could be on Textor’s list, with a 10-per-cent stake in one of them possible.
However, Sunderland fans have raised concerns over this news given Textor’s reputation, having just overseen Lyon’s relegation to Ligue 2 for financial reasons.
Louis-Dreyfus and Sunderland are doing just fine
Sunderland are in the best spot they have been in for years under the current regime, and those foundations are only going stronger.
With the financial boost from promotion, the Black Cats are in a very healthy position for the next few years, regardless of the outcome of the upcoming campaign.
Ambition has been the buzzword for years now on Wearside, and Louis-Dreyfus and his team have shown a remarkable amount of it already this summer, with the recruitment plans set in place.
There is no need to disrupt that, which is exactly what Textor would do if he were to have any involvement in Sunderland.
Further investment will be welcomed, but it has to emerge as the right opportunity for the Black Cats to benefit from it.
