Walker alternative could land at Sunderland
There is no doubt that the SR5 club have an excellent right-back option in Trai Hume, who is more than capable of making the step up.
The Northern Ireland international was one of the best players in red and white stripes throughout the Championship campaign.
There is every chance that he is ready for the Premier League, but an experienced head could be a useful asset to push him forward.
This could see Regis Le Bris delve into his French folder to once again bring another one of his countrymen to the north east.
A loan swoop for Axel Disasi could be utilised at Chelsea, with the Blues reportedly willing to part ways with the £60k-per-week defender [Sportsboom, 23 June].
The 27-year-old has been compared directly to Manchester City stalwart Walker, with both registering similarly for pass completion rate and tackles.

By comparison, Disasi ranks better for successful take-ons, aerial duels won and clearances, which can only be seen as a boost.
His ability to also play as a centre-back can only be seen as a positive and something that sets him apart from other potential transfer options.
Disasi could be useful asset for Sunderland
There may be some resistance to the addition of the ex-Monaco man at the Stadium of Light, but he could prove to be a shrewd signing.
Disasi has excellent experience and had a mostly positive spell when given an opportunity under Unai Emery at Aston Villa.
As a result, the Frenchman could represent perfect competition for someone like Dan Ballard, while also being able to feature at full-back.
