Sunderland can ‘greenlight Triantis transfer to Rangers’ under one condition
Sunderland’s promotion back to the Premier League may open the door for Nectar Triantis to depart again in the summer.
Now that Premier League football is on the horizon after an eight-year absence, Sunderland will have already initiated plans for the summer transfer window.
With Wilfried Singo linked among several others, it is evident that the Black Cats are looking to bolster their squad to try and break the trend of newly promoted sides dropping straight back down into the Championship.
However, as new players arrive, those currently at the Stadium of Light will fall down the pecking order, and Triantis will be one of them.

Triantis exit may make sense for Sunderland
Sunderland’s success has been found through the development of youth, which, in turn, leads to financial profit when they eventually move on.
Tommy Watson is the prime example of that, having made a multi-million pound move to Brighton, though, with promotion sealed, those opportunities for younger players may be more limited.
Rangers have expressed an interest in signing Triantis, and it may make sense for Sunderland to accept it, though only if it is a loan deal.
A chance for the midfielder to play for one of the top sides in Scotland and Europe would do wonders for his development, while still giving the Black Cats full control over his future.
Triantis has thrived in his second loan spell at Hibernian, and it will be crucial that he is playing regular first-team football again next season.

Sunderland must prioritise development this summer
The Black Cats have a lot of young, promising players who are unlikely to have any real say in the Premier League season.
Le Bris could keep them as depth, but the smart thing to do is to find loan spells for those who need to be playing regular football, with Triantis certainly one of them.
Harrison Jones broke into the first team this season, and he is likely to be another who would benefit massively from a spell out on loan.
This summer is going to be huge for Sunderland, and they will be afforded no margin for error when it comes to the decisions made within it.
