Sunderland ‘can easily spend £100m’ in new transfer statement – Exclusive
Sunderland fans are eagerly awaiting new signings at the Stadium of Light this summer ahead of their upcoming Premier League season.
Regis Le Bris has only brought in one player so far, with Enzo Le Fee’s transfer becoming permanent at the Black Cats.
However, the squad remains weakened, with Jobe Bellingham the latest player to depart Sunderland ahead of the upcoming season.
Therefore, fans are eagerly awaiting more transfer activity in the hope that they can become the first promoted team to survive in the top-flight for three years.

Sunderland could spend £100m this summer
With July now approaching, Sunderland’s transfer activity remains quiet.
While players have been linked to the Black Cats, no incomings appear close, much to the concern of the Stadium of Light faithful.
However, there may still be hope of a busy summer window, with Sunderland possessing the ability to spend around £100million.
Football finance expert Dan Plumley – speaking exclusively to Mackem News – has weighed in on the Black Cats’ potential spending power.
“To tackle this in different stages, it is perfectly possible that they could spend £100m, and that is if they have a real go,” he stated.
“That would be a statement for me where they are having a real go at trying to stay in this league.
“There is absolutely no guarantee that it comes off, we saw that with Ipswich last season. But they could look to spend that, which is basically the TV cash, which is why we end up at this £100m figure.
“If you finish at the bottom of the league, you are going to get around £105m and slightly higher when we see the new TV deal kick in.
“Let’s say it’s £100m for argument’s sake, you could spend all that TV cash.
“We know that PSR limit is a little different to that because they have been in the Championship.
“We know that the £61m is the PSR headroom, and we know that they have already sold a couple of players and brought one in.
“They could choose to spend that TV cash, but I would be surprised if they did, which is the other side of it.
“I think it is more likely that they will spend within the margins of a spend and sell arrangement.
“They will probably end up spending more than they sell, as there will be a statement of intent to try and stay in the league.
“I would be surprised to see them hit that £100m, but in terms of could they – yes, absolutely, as what they would be doing is just spending the TV cash.”

Sunderland need to stop pondering transfer targets
It is no secret that Sunderland are going to have their backs against the wall this season.
The Black Cats are many people’s favourites to go down already, which would be a massive waste of their recent progress.
However, Sunderland’s activity this summer has not offered any encouragement, which is simply unacceptable.
With July approaching, Le Bris simply has to start making signings or the Black Cats will be at an immediate disadvantage at the start of the season.
