Sunderland bid rejected for Lauriente as new transfer demand emerges
Sunderland have their eyes set on securing another attacker in the transfer window.
Despite the impending signing of Chemsdine Talbi nearing completion, as he touches down in England ahead of his medical, Sunderland are still in the market for attacking reinforcements.
The Black Cats do not have the luxury to be able to gamble and wait and see how the likes of Chris Rigg and Romaine Mundle will perform in the Premier League, hence their interest in Armand Lauriente.

Sunderland have Lauriente bid rejected
Sunderland are known to be admirers of Lauriente following his exceptional campaign for Sassuolo in Serie B.
The winger primarily operates off the left, but could equally provide Regis Le Bris with depth up front and on the right flank.
The 26-year-old Frenchman is in the prime of his career, with multiple seasons in Serie A and Ligue 1 under his belt, meaning he would bring valuable experience to the Wearsiders’ forward line.

Sunderland have now turned their admiration for the winger into a concrete bid, according to Antonio Parrotto on 8 July, with their first bid for Lauriente being rejected.
Sassuolo are demanding £25.9million plus bonuses for their star man, who is reportedly pushing to leave and does not want to renew his current deal.
Sunderland can be patient with Lauriente deal
If the reports are true and Lauriente is trying to fight his way out of Italy, then Sunderland should allow the Frenchman to try and force Sassuolo’s hand.
This could potentially lower their asking price and allow Regis Le Bris to swoop in and get his man.
The lure of being a Premier League club is a powerful bargaining chip Sunderland can use to their advantage to bring quality players like Lauriente to the Stadium of Light.
The French star would provide valuable support for Mundle on the left, with both players needing to chip in with goals and assists to give Sunderland a fighting chance of staying in the Premier League.
