Since arriving, Mukiele has played 90 minutes in all but one of his five Sunderland appearances, and has impressed in every single one.
Via FotMob, the 27-year-old has already won 27 duels in the Premier League and has made an even more impressive 11 tackles in four league appearances.
Despite playing in the heart of defence, the former PSG man has created five chances for the Wearsiders, several of which have arrived from his long throws.
Mukiele has already outperformed Virgil van Dijk in some areas, and if that can be a theme throughout the campaign, all of the signs will be looking positive.

Sunderland’s defence are holding firm
Only two teams in the Premier League have conceded fewer goals than Sunderland this season, with those being Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
Tottenham have matched the Black Cats with four goals conceded in six games, showcasing just how well the work was done to solidify the backline this summer.
