Speakman ready to break mould over ‘perfect’ new Sunderland signing
Sunderland are now preparing for their return to the Premier League after an eight-year absence.
Regis Le Bris has a massive challenge on his hands if he is to keep the Black Cats in England’s top division.
Sunderland have already opened talks to extend Romaine Mundle’s contract as they look to secure their stars this summer.
However, signings are also needed at the Stadium of Light if they are to become the first promoted team in three years to avoid the drop.

Sunderland target ‘role model’ Jordan Henderson for Premier League return
Sunderland have been heavily linked with Jordan Henderson in recent weeks.
The former Academy of Light graduate played for the Black Cats until 2011, when he then moved to Liverpool.
Currently, the England international plays for Dutch giants Ajax, but has now been linked with a sensational return to the Black Cats.

According to the Daily Mirror (28 May), both Kristjaan Speakman and Le Bris see Henderson as the “perfect role model” for their upcoming Premier League campaign.
More experienced is wanted in the Black Cats squad, and a move to Wearside is believed to be the 34-year-old’s preferred choice.
However, Henderson could also move to Rangers or the Serie A.

Henderson would inspire Sunderland’s young squad
The one glaring problem with Sunderland’s squad is their lack of experience.
First-teamers such as Chris Rigg and Jobe Bellingham are still extremely young and may be overwhelmed with a difficult relegation battle.
One of Henderson’s biggest qualities is his leadership, and if he did return, he would inspire the majority of the Black Cats squad.
Having a local player who has gone on to win everything would be a massive morale boost for Sunderland and would dramatically increase their chances of staying in the Premier League.
Hopefully, Le Bris can get the deal done over the next few weeks ready for the start of pre-season.
