Sky Sports pundit predicts Hull City v Sunderland result in ‘Great Magnitude’ verdict
David Prutton has predicted that Sunderland will drop points ahead of Sunday’s (20 October) trip to face Hull City.
Regis Le Bris’ side have earned their plaudits following a successful start to the campaign that sees the Black Cats at the top of the Championship.
Their one setback so far has been a somewhat poor start on the road with two defeats in their four away games so far, something which SkySports presenter Prutton has predicted to continue this weekend in a 1-1 draw.
Talking on the Championship prediction podcast (17 October), Prutton said: “It’s a game I’m really looking forward to. Sunderland, the point out of almost literally nowhere (versus Leeds United) could be something that could be of great magnitude come the end of the season.
“I’m gonna go with 1-1.”
Away form the only worry for Sunderland
When it comes to home form, Sunderland have the best in the division, according to soccerstats, however, their away form has seen them drop six points against sides you’d perhaps usually expect them to beat.

Defeat to Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth was followed by another away defeat to Watford resulting in Sunderland having picked up just six points from a possible 12 on the road.
Whilst home form is essential, it has never been enough to see any side over the promotion line come the end of the season and their away form must improve as a result.
The Black Cats have a chance to rectify against a Hull City side that were stripped of talent in the summer.
A win would likely allow Le Bris’ side to retain their place at the top end of the table and the pending returns of Eliezer Mayenda and Dan Ballard to the matchday squad should provide a huge boost to their chances of victory.
In other Sunderland news, Eliezer Mayenda believes Sunderland can push for promotion this season.
