Simon Adingra reveals what Amad Diallo told him about Sunderland after transfer

Sunderland have continued their flurry of transfer activity with another eye-catching deal at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats have now spent over £100million this summer and broke their transfer record twice by signing Enzo Le Fee and then Habib Diarra.

Having completed a deal for Chemsdine Talbi, Sunderland have now signed Simon Adingra from Brighton for £21million plus add-ons.

Amad Diallo reacted to the Adingra news on social media, clearly delighted with the transfer announcement of his international teammate.

Diallo plays pivotal role in Adingra joining Sunderland

Diallo has continued his love affair with Sunderland after watching their play-off victory over Coventry City at the Stadium of Light.

The winger enjoyed a standout season while on loan in the North East and has since flourished at Old Trafford.

The Black Cats were linked with a stunning return for Diallo, although that can only be described as speculative.

While the Ivorian is unlikely to return to Wearside for now, his international teammate has indeed signed for the North East outfit.

Sunderland went in for the 23-year-old in January as the Seagulls eyed Tommy Watson, but both players remained at their respective clubs.

However, as Watson secured a £10million move to the South Coast, that perhaps paved the way for Adingra to move in the opposite direction.

It now appears that Diallo played a crucial role in the winger’s switch to the Stadium of Light.

Speaking on his move, Adringra said: “I know Amad very well. I spoke to him and he told me how big this club is.”

That news will thrill Sunderland supporters, as it is clear that Diallo still has such fond memories of his time on Wearside.

Furthermore, he is convincing players with vast potential to move to the North East.

Diallo to receive warm reception at Stadium of Light

When ex-players return to their former clubs, they are often met with a chorus of boos, but that will not happen with Diallo.

The Manchester United man will soak up the applause that comes his way, and if he scores against the Black Cats, then he will be forgiven.

After such a magnificent spell, the Ivory Coast international is repaying Sunderland in spades.
