Regis Le Bris has been giving a squad update ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park

Sunderland will look to continue their good start to the season with a trip to London to face Crystal Palace.

Sunderland have a chance of making history on Saturday while looking for their first away win of the season.

Le Bris's men will be unfancied against Palace, but they will be confident that they will be able to cause them problems.

Romaine Mundle will return after the October international break

Sunderland will be without Dan Ballard against Palace, and Le Bris has also given an update on other members of the squad

Romaine Mundle is another player who will miss the game this weekend and will be out for a little while longer.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Le Bris gave an update as to when Mundle will return: "I think we are looking at the next international break."

This confirms the 22-year-old will be out until mid-October while he recovers from injury.

Mundle sustained a hamstring injury in pre-season, which required surgery, and he has been out of action ever since.

Romaine Mundle will make an impact for Sunderland

Mundle's October return is one that Sunderland fans should be excited about seeing.

The winger was one of the most influential players in the Mackems' promotion-winning season.

  • Mundle began his career in the Tottenham Hotspur academy
  • Signed from Standard Liege for an undisclosed fee
  • Scored six goals in 33 games last season

With his skill set, Mundle will surely be able to make the step up to the Premier League after a dazzling last campaign.

Sunderland will be delighted to have him back once October rolls around, and hopefully, he'll be key to their survival.
