Robin Roefs topples Gianluigi Donnarumma as stunning stats prove that Sunderland have struck gold

Robin Roefs has been incredible for Sunderland since he made the move to the Stadium of Light in the summer.

The goalkeeper has put in numerous outstanding displays, which have contributed to their rise up the Premier League table.

Even in Sunderland’s recent defeat to Manchester United, Roefs still put in a brilliant performance and should not have been on the losing side.

Now, stats have revealed just how good Roefs has been for Sunderland this season.

Robin Roefs third in the Premier League for goals prevented

While Roefs may have only played six times for Sunderland, he is already looking like a bargain.

Signing for around £9million, the keeper could easily be the Black Cats’ signing of the season, and the stats prove why.

According to Fotmob on 8 October, Roefs has prevented the third-most goals in the Premier League this season, sat at 2.7.

Only Dean Henderson and Guglielmo Vicario have higher at 2.8.

On top of this, the Sunderland goalkeeper also has an excellent save percentage at 80 per cent.

Again, this is the third highest in the division, toppling the likes of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has a 75 per cent save rate.
