Robin Roefs announcement made ahead of Man United vs Sunderland
Robin Roefs has been making headlines at Sunderland this season.
Old Trafford beckons for Sunderland this weekend, who are looking to add to what has already been a superb start to life back in the Premier League.
With 11 points from six games, several Black Cats players have been praised, though perhaps none as much as their new number one.
Roefs has been immense for Sunderland this season, and his form has been recognised again by the latest announcement ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Another Netherlands call-up confirmed for Robin Roefs
Sunderland would not be where they are currently had it not been for Roefs, who is statistically one of the best-performing goalkeepers in the Premier League so far.
His heroics at Nottingham Forest alone saw him prevent over two goals, and also secured his third clean sheet of the campaign.
Now, his form has been recognised again with a call-up to the Netherlands squad for the upcoming October international break, as announced via their official X account on Friday.
Dutch teammates Brian Brobbey and Lutsharel Geertruida are nowhere to be seen, though it may not be long until the former gets his chance if he can take a claim for his place in the Black Cats’ starting 11.
With Mark Flekken and Bart Verbruggen to compete with for a starting spot, it remains to be seen whether he will be handed his international debut, though it will not be long until that arrives.

Sunderland will have Robin Roefs to thank if they stay up
Roefs, aside from his error against Aston Villa, has been flawless in his performances since making the move to the Stadium of Light, and has single-handedly earned points this season.
Via FotMob, the Dutchman has prevented 2.61 goals, with an impressive 83.3 per cent save percentage in the Premier League.
With 11 high claims, he thrives in controlling his penalty area, and that was one of the main concerns that was raised over Anthony Patterson.
Goals win games, but preventing them can be just as important for a newly-promoted side, and Sunderland have one of the best in the league when it comes to that.
