‘Oh My Goodness’ – Richard Keys amazed by what he’s seen from Sunderland figure
Jeff Stelling has been mightily impressed by what he has seen from Regis Le Bris early on in his Sunderland tenure.
The Black Cats made it five wins from their opening six Championship matches under the Frenchman by seeing off Middlesbrough 1-0 at the weekend.
Le Bris was appointed amid very little fanfare in the summer, yet he has Sunderland flying high in second at this admittedly early stage in proceedings.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [23 September, 6:56am], Stelling said: “I tell you who I’m impressed with – Regis Le Bris at Sunderland. Oh my goodness.”

Not many – if any – Sunderland supporters were aware of Le Bris prior to his appointment in June.
The 48-year-old was not exactly a ‘name’, with his most recent job seeing him oversee Lorient’s relegation to Ligue 2.
Some would be forgiven for thinking the Black Cats would be in for a relegation battle this season, but it has proved far from the case so far.
A perfect August saw Le Bris named the Championship Manager of the Month and his side have not looked back.
Losing to Plymouth Argyle recently was disappointing, but the Mackems have since bounced back with the Chris Rigg-inspired win over local rivals Middlesbrough.
The aim now is to maintain this momentum for as long as possible and hopefully remain in play-off contention.

While Sunderland may occupy an automatic promotion spot, supporters would surely take a top-six finish if offered to them right now.
There is still a long, long way to go this season, but the early signs are extremely positive for both Le Bris and Sunderland.
