Regis Le Bris to hand out two debuts – Sunderland predicted XI vs Huddersfield

Sunderland have a swift turnaround to face Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup.

Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat to Burnley will hurt, though they have very little time to rest on their laurels with a clash at the Stadium of Light this Tuesday.

Huddersfield make the trip to Wearside looking to cause an upset in the cup.

Regis Le Bris will almost certainly rotate his team heavily for the competition, though the increased strength in depth in his squad will bode well for their chances of getting a result.

Nordi Mukiele set for Sunderland debut

Robin Roefs has impressed since his arrival at Sunderland, but he will likely make way for Anthony Patterson to make his first appearance of the season.

Sunderland aren’t blessed when it comes to options in the full-back area, meaning Trai Hume could start on the right, with summer signing Arthur Masuaku on the left.

Dan Ballard’s injury against Burnley will rule him out, meaning a partnership of Nordi Mukiele and Jenson Seelt is possible.

Three changes are expected in midfield, with Dan Neil, Chris Rigg and Enzo Le Fee all coming into the starting 11 for the Carabao Cup clash.

Neil has been linked with an exit from Sunderland this summer, and will want to make an impression against the Terriers.

Marc Guiu leads the line vs Huddersfield

Patrick Roberts is the only other winger at Sunderland after Chemsdine Talbi and Simon Adingra, both of whom are expected to be rested.

Roberts could feature on the right, with Wilson Isidor starting on the left flank, despite usually appearing as the focal point of the attack.

Marc Guiu could be handed his first start in Sunderland colours on Tuesday, and will be hoping to start his spell on Wearside with a goal.
