Regis Le Bris shares Sunderland problems after 2-2 draw v Coventry

Regis Le Bris admits he was disappointed after Sunderland let their two-goal lead slip against Coventry on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats drew 2-2 with the managerless Coventry in the Championship at the Stadium of Light on 9 November, with goals from Wilson Isidor and Dennis Cerkin cancelled out.

Le Bris insisted that his side needed to win the game and revealed problems that need solving that were impossible to do during the game.

Speaking to BBC Radio Newcastle after the game, Le Bris was not pleased with the comeback from the away side.

“It was a good first half,” he said. “We started well with our strength and our quality at home.

“We created many opportunities to score with two fantastic goals. The second half was totally different because we were not able to keep the ball under pressure.

“I can be disappointed and I think the players are disappointed too.

“We need to solve other problems that it wasn’t possible to do today. We needed to win that game.”

Sunderland problems emerge at Stadium of Light

Coming into the game after being announced as the October Manager of the Month in the Championship, Le Bris would have wanted more.

After racing into a two-goal lead as well against a struggling side, it looked like that was going to happen fairly easily in the end.

Goals from Jack Rudoni and Hagi Wright made sure it was a disappointing end to the day though, but the Black Cats still look likely to go into the break top of the Championship.

With the likes of Jobe Bellingham going away on international duty with England Under-21s despite his suspension, it is critical that no new injuries are picked up.

Days like these happen in the Championship, just look at Leeds losing to Millwall on 6 November, it is just all about how you respond.

Annoyingly, Sunderland will be made to wait for two weeks now, with three huge games coming up against Millwall, West Brom and Sheffield United.

In other Sunderland news, Dan Ballard has been called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the November international break.
