Regis Le Bris hints at Sunderland changes vs Bournemouth in team news update

Sunderland could make several changes to their starting 11 this weekend.

Sunderland host Bournemouth at the Stadium of Light this Saturday, looking to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage.

The Black Cats are yet to lose on home soil since their return to the Premier League, while the Cherries have won just once away from home.

Regis Le Bris will be looking to extend that record this weekend, and he could be set to make changes to do so.

Sunderland set to rotate ahead of festive period

Sunderland have named an unchanged lineup for the last few games, but with three games approaching in the seven days, Le Bris has hinted at the fact that he could make changes.

Naturally, it will happen, for sure,” he said in his latest press conference.

I had this conversation with the players, and I told them that we perform well, and consistency is key.

“It was normal to keep the same starting 11. Now, with many games in a row in a short period, organically it will happen.”

Chemsdine Talbi and Simon Adingra may get a chance to prove their worth, having spent a large portion of the season as impact players at best.

Brian Brobbey is also yet to start for the Black Cats after his summer move to Wearside, and he could also be in line to make his full debut against the Cherries.

From an injury perspective, it’s very much as you were, with Le Bris confirming that there are no fresh injury concerns.

Habib Diarra remains sidelined for a few more weeks, though Romaine Mundle seems to be edging closer to a return.

Sunderland are one win away from surpassing 2016-17 season

The Stadium of Light has been a fortress this season, but it was often the downfall of Sunderland in previous years.

It wasn’t too long ago that the Black Cats went a full calendar year without a win on home soil, showcasing the improvement not just in performances, but also general atmosphere.

In their last campaign in the top flight, Sunderland managed just 14 points at home before succumbing to relegation, and with 12 already this season, they are just one win away from surpassing that.

With trips to Liverpool and Man City approaching, Sunderland need to get at least a point out of this game to get back on track after their disappointing defeat to Fulham last weekend.
