Regis Le Bris shares ‘great’ trait Sunderland centurion Trai Hume has
Regis Le Bris has hailed Trai Hume in the wake of his 100th Sunderland appearance against West Brom on Tuesday.
Ultimately that Baggies clash (26 November) provided more disappointment on Wearside as the Black Cats made it five straight games without a win in a 0-0 draw.
The return of Hume to the starting lineup was timely with the Northern Ireland international praised for his mentality by Le Bris.
In quotes reported by Sunderland AFC News (27 November), he said: “He is a good player and very important for the team. His mentality is great. He is a good player with and without the ball, so he is important for us.
“He played as a left-back in the first part of the game and then as a right-back. He did well but, for every player in the team today, it’s still little margins we have to manage to be better.
“I think Trai has this mindset, and I hope we will be competitive on Friday” (against Sheffield United).
Sunderland milestone is a testament to the ability of Trai Hume
Hume’s appearance against West Brom was his 100th in a red and white shirt and the level of development in his game since signing has been phenomenal.
Having arrived as an unknown defender from Linfield, Hume has gone from strength to strength and solidified his status as one of the best fullbacks in the Championship.
Sunderland are a much better side with Hume in the starting 11 and his role in preventing opposition threat is crucial.

Alongside Dennis Cirkin on the opposite side of the Black Cats’ defence, the pair have been influential in what has been a solid campaign so far and Sunderland’s ability to keep him fit will prove important to their chances of promotion.
Like most in the squad, Hume is still a very young player with bags of experience which will only grow with more game time and his importance in the side cannot be overlooked.
