Regis Le Bris finally sees the light with Enzo Le Fee as Sunderland change on the cards
Regis Le Bris has hinted that he could be set to move Enzo Le Fee back to his natural position at Sunderland.
The past few weeks have certainly dampened the mood on Wearisde, with the Black Cats having conceded nine goals in two games.
However, with Sunderland still just one win away from the European spots, there is still plenty to play for ahead of the final four games.
But if Le Bris’ side are to achieve something special, then there are a number of changes that need to be made from a tactical viewpoint.
And Le Fee, who has been one of the standout players this season, looks set to be the subject of one of them.
Enzo Le Fee set for change that could boost Sunderland’s European hopes
Le Fee has had a phenomenal campaign, and it’s made even better when taking into account the fact that he has been played out of his natural position for a large part of the season.
Of his 36 appearances in the current campaign, 16 of them have seen him play wide left, with just three goal involvements to short for it.
| Le Fee | Appearances | Goals/Assists |
| LW | 16 | 3 |
| AM | 11 | 5 |
| CM | 6 | 1 |
| ST | 1 | 1 |
But that looks set to change, with Le Bris confirming the availability of several wingers, which could afford him space to move Le Fee back in the middle.
He said: “Enzo has played as a left winger, but his best position is as a midfielder, as a ten or an eight, depending on the pair. So, if our wingers are back, it gives us more options and probably more competition for the wingers, too.”

When played centrally, he has four goals and an assist, albeit with a handful of them also being penalties.
The Black Cats have only lost three of the games when Le Fee has been used in the middle, compared to the five when he has played out wide.
Habib Diarra could be Sunderland’s sacrifice
Habib Diarra has not had the debut season that he, or anyone affiliated with his transfer, would have hoped for.
The Senegal international has struggled to showcase his quality, and that was demonstarted by his crucial late miss in the 4-3 defeat to Aston Villa.
If Le Fee moves back into the middle, it will almost certainly be in place of Diarra, who may be more impactful as a substitute towards the latter stages of games.
Diarra looks to have something about him, but there is not enough of it on show as of right now to warrant his starting place in the team.
