Regis Le Bris faces Chemsdine Talbi dilemma after what he did vs Wolves
Sunderland recorded their fourth win of the season by beating Wolves 2-0 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
Sunderland’s 2-0 win over Wolves ensured that Regis Le Bris’ side have made their best home start to a Premier League season in 57 years.
Nordi Mukiele was excellent for the Black Cats, with his first goal for the club setting the tone for yet another strong performance.
Chemsdine Talbi has shown his quality in various moments this season, and after what he did against Wolves, it forces Le Bris into a tricky decision.

Chemsdine Talbi’s impresses vs Wolves
Talbi joined Sunderland from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window, with the fee amounting to £19.5million.
Having started Sunderland’s first six Premier League games, the 20-year-old dropped to the bench in favour of Bertrand Traore.
However, after coming on in the 63rd minute, the Morocco international showcased the potential he has by playing a huge part in the second goal.
Talbi’s 2024-25 stats for Club Brugge:
- Appearances: 44
- Goals: 7
- Assists: 5
Talbi carried the ball forward brilliantly in the build-up to the second goal, before his pass aimed for Eliezer Mayenda was cut out by Ladislav Krejci, who inadvertently knocked the ball into his own net.
Sunderland Echo journalist Phil Smith was full of praise for Talbi’s impact at the Stadium of Light and stated what Le Bris must do next.
He said: “I’m really impressed again by Talbi, who’s really grown into the Sunderland shirt.
“It’s fairly clear that he can be a lot more dangerous on the left, I think you can see how much more comfortable he feels driving infield.”
With Traore and Simon Adingra both out of sorts, Talbi could shift to the left-hand side, where he can show more of his flair.

Le Bris has a tough choice in his hands, yet, as a manager, it’s the exact type of dilemma he wants.
Chemsdine Talbi must be given the opportunity to start on the left wing
Simon Adingra has been disappointing for Sunderland, despite being their second-most expensive signing of the summer.
Whilst Enzo Le Fee played well on the left against Wolves, Talbi offers a more direct side to his game, and with tough games coming, his guile and skill could be incredibly effective.
It’s a huge asset for Sunderland to have multiple options in their attacking areas, and apart from Wilson Isidor, no one in the front line has cemented their place in the team.
As a result, this offers the perfect opportunity for Le Bris to offer Talbi the opportunity to shine in a different role for Sunderland.
