Regis Le Bris experiment ended in two changes – Sunderland predicted XI vs Leeds United

Sunderland could make two changes from the side that secured a point away at Brighton.

Safety is all but nailed on for Sunderland, who have picked up 27 points from their first 17 games back in the Premier League.

However, the Black Cats won’t rest until they hit that 40-point mark, and they can take another huge stride towards that when they host Leeds United on Sunday.

Regis Le Bris’ side are yet to lose a game at the Stadium of Light this season, and to ensure they retain that impressive record, the Frenchman could make two changes to his starting 11.

Sunderland to stick with unchanged defensive shape

Dan Ballard earned plaudits for his display at Brighton, and given that the Black Cats secured their sixth clean sheet of the season, there is little reason, or option, for Le Bris to change.

Trai Hume is likely to start again at left back, with Omar Alderete and Nordi Mukiele making up the remainder of the backline.

Lutsharel Geertruida impressed in his new midfield role, and in the absence of both Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra, he should keep his place in the side.

Partnering him will be Granit Xhaka and Enzo Le Fee, who has been Sunderland’s most underrated player so far this season.

The Frenchman has five goal contributions so far this season for the Wearsiders, and will be looking to add to that before the end of the year.

Two changes predicted in Sunderland attack

With Bertrand Traore and Chemsdine Talbi away at AFCON, Le Bris has had to experiment with different options in the wide areas.

Against Brighton, that saw Chris Rigg deployed on the right flank, and while the teenager showed some quality, it’s evident that he isnt a winger.

With that in mind, Simon Adingra could shift over to that side of the attack, with Romaine Mundle coming in on the left-wing.

Leading the line is Wilson Isidor, who has struggled for form lately.

However, the Stadium of Light is where most of his success has come as a Premier League striker, and he could be handed a chance to rekindle that this weekend.
