Regis Le Bris could be forced into Sunderland rethink after what player did vs Wolves
Regis Le Bris extended Sunderland’s brilliant record at the Stadium of Light against Wolves on Saturday afternoon.
Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in their last Premier League game meant they had to bounce back after the international break
Le Bris wants to keep Sunderland in the Premier League, and at this stage of the season, every point matters.
Sunderland’s showdown against Wolves took place on Saturday as the Black Cats ran out 2-0 victors.
There are some nailed on starters in Sunderland‘s team like Nordi Mukiele and Granit Xhaka. However, one man may find himself dropped after what he did against Wolves.

Chris Rigg struggled to find his feet vs Wolves
Habib Diarra’s injury has opened up another space in Sunderland’s midfield for Chris Rigg.
Young midfielder Rigg is one of the brightest stars Sunderland have, and this season was always poised to be a tricky one for the teenager.
Rigg provided much-needed energy against Nottingham Forest, but was hooked early against Aston Villa after Reinildo’s red card.
- Rigg didn’t make a successful dribble in two attempts
- He only created one chance in an attacking role
- Rigg only had one touch in Wolves’ box
Rigg was replaced by Lutsharel Geertruida in the 76th minute as Le Bris looked to see out the win for Sunderland.

Le Bris now has a big decision to make with Rigg ahead of Sunderland’s clash with Chelsea on 25 October.

Le Bris should give Dan Neil a chance over Rigg
Dan Neil has been banging on Le Bris‘ door for a Premier League start after playing a massive part in Sunderland’s promotion.
The midfielder has been unlucky not to receive a start so far, but it is understandable due to the sheer competition in the Mackems’ side.
Neil came off the bench against Wolves to make his 200th appearance for the Black Cats.
Le Bris has often switched Sunderland’s formation to a flat three in midfield this season, and Neil could be the perfect option against an in-form Chelsea side.
