Real Madrid fans baffled after Jobe Bellingham transfer development — ‘Joke’

Jobe Bellingham seems to have admirers among the Real Madrid hierarchy after what he’s done at Sunderland this season.

The Black Cats signed the 19-year-old from Birmingham City in 2023, and since then, he’s shown glimpses of his talent in Tyne and Wear.

It isn’t surprising to see Jobe being compared to Jude Bellingham, who has become one of the best players during his time at Los Blancos.

With the 19-year-old midfielder’s ceiling potentially the same as his brother’s, the La Liga giants may be thinking about replicating their success with the England international, but some of their fans seem disillusioned.

Bellingham transfer from Sunderland not wanted by Real Madrid fans

Marca reported on 29 April that Jobe has caught the attention of Real Madrid after what he’s done at the Wearside outfit in the current campaign.

The Los Blancos’ fans aren’t happy with the development, though, with one X user reacting with, “We are a joke, man”, in response to the links.

Some other supporters of the La Liga club wanted them to focus on reinforcing other areas of the pitch instead of the midfield.

A few of the Bernabeu faithful were open to the 19-year-old’s signing, while others took aim at the Spanish giants and wondered whether Ethan Mbappe would be of interest soon as well.

Sunderland happy to keep Bellingham

Regis Le Bris will arguably be happy to keep Jobe at the Black Cats for many years to come, as he’s become a key player for them.

Real Madrid fans seem unaware of the quality the 19-year-old possesses, which should be expected from them.

Those who’ve witnessed the midfielder at the Stadium of Light know he’s got the potential to reach Jude’s level one day.

Sunderland have Premier League promotion to play for soon, and Jobe may be able to garner much more attention if he plays in the top flight.

The 19-year-old was named the Championship Young Player of the Year, which Jude received in 2020 during his spell at Birmingham City.

Promotion to the Premier League will arguably strengthen Le Bris’ position to convince the young Englishman to stay at the Stadium of Light for another season.

With more eyes on Jobe in the top flight, the Wearside outfit may also be able to demand more for the midfielder if he continues to be successful.

The 19-year-old’s situation in Tyne and Wear is one to keep an eye on.
