Wilson Isidor has not started as many games as he would have liked at Sunderland this season.

The Frenchman has been selected to lead the line on just 11 occasions throughout the Mackems' 23 Premier League matches.

Recently, Isidor has been linked with a move away, likely due to that reason, with Brian Brobbey finally coming into his own at the Stadium of Light.

However, Eliezer Mayenda is another touted by a European club, so selling both forwards would not be smart.

But while the transfer window is ticking down, and the time for any exits is coming to a close, there has been another confirmed departure following Dan Neil's move to Ipswich.

While Isidor continues to be linked with a move away from Sunderland, the club have officially confirmed that another player has already left.

Arthur Masuaku has now joined Ligue 1 side Lens on loan after his summer transfer did not quite work out as planned.

The defender arrived at the club on a free transfer after leaving Besiktas at the end of last season.

Since then, the DR Congo international has struggled to feature for Regis Le Bris, with Reinildo and Trai Hume often preferred out at left-back.

In total, he has made just four appearances for the club.

With his departure now confirmed, many members of the squad have been reacting to the news, with Isidor one of the more notable players.

After a deal was agreed with the French club, Sunderland took to Instagram to send a message of good luck to the player.

Isidor, alongside Enzo Le Fee, Reinildo, Brobbey, Dan Ballard, and Simon Adingra, have all liked the post since it was made public.

What Kristjaan Speakman has said about Masuaku's exit

Kristjaan Speakman has also reacted to Masuaku's departure, with the sporting director issuing the following message.

He said: "Arthur is naturally keen to play more minutes this season following his return from international duty.

"We have strong depth in this area of the squad and feel it’s the right move for both the player and Club in this moment. We wish him well at Lens, where they have an exciting opportunity this season.”

With Sunderland having 'strong' cover at left-back, a replacement for Masuaku in the coming days seems unlikely.

The Black Cats instead will likely be looking for another goalkeeper, as Anthony Patterson is linked with a move to Millwall.

Sunderland would leave themselves short in that department if they sanction his exit without a replacement.
