Sunderland fans are starting to fear the worst in regard to the future of Romaine Mundle.

Last season, it was the likes of Jobe Bellingham and Enzo Le Fee who caught the most attention, though Mundle was just as crucial.

The former Spurs academy prospect popped up with some huge moments in a season ravaged with injuries, with the hopes that he could kick on in pre-season and showcase his ability in the Premier League.

However, he has been linked with an exit from Sunderland, and he may have just confirmed his next move with his antics on social media.

Sunderland could be set to lose Mundle

With Armand Lauriente set to join Sunderland in a deal worth around £17million, fans were quick to question what that could mean for Mundle.

On paper, he would be the third-choice left winger, having been the number one for the previous 12 months when fit.

Now, fans have noticed that the forward has removed any mention of Sunderland from his Instagram bio, while also removing his profile picture.

Putting two and two together, it does seem like his future at the Stadium of Light is in doubt, with Mundle also absent from any of the training videos posted across social media.

Mundle exit would be a blow for Sunderland

While the Black Cats have bolstered their attacking options so far this summer, they will have entered it with the intent of retaining those currently on Wearside.

Should Mundle leave, it would definitely be a blow, though, depending on the fee, it could also benefit the Black Cats in the long run.

Mundle's future will undoubtedly become clear in the next few weeks, and could be revealed as early as Saturday (19 July) when Sunderland face Sevilla.
