Life at Sunderland couldn't be going much better right now.

The Black Cats have had a dream summer after winning promotion back to the Premier League in May by defeating Sheffield United at Wembley.

The Wearsiders' transfer window has been incredible so far, signing big names like Granit Xhaka and Simon Adingra in a spending spree totalling almost £150million.

Sunderland beat West Ham United 3-0 in their Premier League opener, and their weekend has gotten even better after their latest announcement.

Sunderland announce Nordi Mukiele signing

Mukiele, 27, has signed a four-year contract at the Stadium of Light for £10.3m, after multiple loan spells away from the Parc Des Princes.

The Frenchman becomes the fourth defender to move to Wearside this summer, following the additions of Reinildo, Arthur Masuaku and Omar Alderete.

Mukiele's move to Sunderland has come as a shock to fans, given his history of playing for Champions League giants, including RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen.

Sunderland fans delighted and expecting summer spree to continue

The Black Cats' transfer business has been something we have never seen before in terms of big-name players arriving at a newly-promoted side.

The hype around Regis Le Bris' side this summer has been off the charts as they look to become the first promoted side to survive since 2023.

After this weekend's events, the hype has only grown, as many are starting to believe that Sunderland can pull off an unbelievable achievement.

The Black Cats' spending doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon, with Le Bris hinting at more arrivals at Sunderland in the final weeks of the window.

The Wearsiders have already made history this transfer window, and are looking set to stay in the Premier League for years to come.
