Sunderland had a packed crowd at the Stadium of Light for their playoff tie against Coventry.

The club went into the match just two games away from Premier League football and with a 2-1 advantage.

Tensions were no doubt high with Regis Le Bris aiming to complete the Black Cats’ goal of top-flight football.

There was plenty of controversy in the match, including Sky Sports making a terrible error about the scoreline.

However, one moment which may have excited Sunderland fans was Manchester United’s Amad Diallo being at the game.

Amad Diallo spotted at Sunderland vs Coventry

During his time at the Stadium of Light, the winger had become a hero as he netted 13 times across the campaign.

Since then, the 22-year-old has really kicked on and has become one of Man United’s best players and was key to their FA Cup victory last season.

However, despite his sudden rise, he has not forgotten his time at Sunderland.

Diallo wished Sunderland luck before their game against Coventry as they aimed to reach the Premier League.

Now, according to journalist Simon Peach (13 May), the winger was at the Stadium of Light watching the match against Coventry.

Amad Diallo link could help produce a partnership with Man United

Diallo’s rise up the ranks at Man United is evident. He could easily end up winning the Europa League this season with the club owing to his performances.

However, without his vital development at Sunderland, he may never have ended up the player he is today.

As a result, Man United may look to send more players on loan to the Black Cats, especially if they reach the Premier League.

This could be vital to Le Bris as these loan deals could be the difference between survival.

Hopefully, with Diallo’s current link with the club, this becomes possible this summer, and the club sees multiple stars from the Red Devils move up north.
