Marcus Neill is the latest player to be in the spotlight for the youth scene at Sunderland with his impressive performances at Under-18 level.
Tommy Watson has been the most recent academy graduate to make the step up to senior-level as the youth setup continues to thrive on Wearside.
Sunderland have struggled offensively this season so to see these young talented forwards coming through the academy is a pleasing prospect with Trey Ogunsuyi another earning his plaudits.
Neill is the latest been to be put in the spotlight having impressed so far this season at just 16 years old.
Marcus Neill has serious potential at Sunderland
The 16-year-old has been in excellent form for the Black Cats so far this season having registered a total of 11 goal contributions so far. Six of those have arrived as goals with his finishing ability on full show.
His partnership with Finn Geragusian has seen the duo flourish with the latter another very promising forward at the Academy of Light.
The Black Cats have many promising players in their youth ranks from Under-18 level all the way up to the Under-21 level and it bodes well for the future of the club.

Neill’s performances saw him earn a remarkable call-up to the Under-21 side in October which is a huge testament to the level of ability and professionalism he has at such a young age.
Having joined from Liverpool last summer, his pedigree is obvious and with the speed of development showcased by the teen, it might not be overly long until he starts to have a small influence in and around the first team at Sunderland.
