Manchester United supporters were left stunned by the performance of Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham as England Under-21 secured victory against Portugal.

Sunderland remain on track to achieve promotion back to the Premier League this season, and while it has been a team effort, certain players have shone more than others.

Jobe has been outstanding for the Black Cats this season, and they will already be fully aware of the task at hand to retain his services in the summer, with or without promotion.

Manchester United have already been linked with a move for Chris Rigg previously, and it seems that the Red Devils faithful are keen on his partner after his impressive display at The Hawthorns.

Jobe is a wanted man in Manchester

The 19-year-old started the game for England Under-21, and registered assists early into the lash, teeing up Ethan Nwaneri to double their lead.

His ball retention and ability to play a ball were on full show for everyone in attendance in the Midlands, as it has been throughout the season on Wearside, and it has led to plenty of Man United fans to beg for their side to sign the teenager this summer.

Sunderland have a future England midfielder in the making

While the ultimate aim on Wearside is to achieve promotion, some serious credit is needed on the recruitment front when it comes to the signing of Jobe.

Sunderland took a risk when spending £3million on a 17-year-old with limited games under his belt, but it has paid off more than anyone could have imagined, and when the time does come to sell, a record fee will undoubtedly arrive.
