Leeds can derail Sunderland bid for Marc Guiu signing as £34.5m update emerges

Leeds’ interest in Artem Dovbyk could derail Guiu to Sunderland
Sunderland and Leeds have established a bit of a rivalry over recent months.
The two clubs competed for promotion in the Championship, with both sides eventually achieving this goal.
This summer, the transfer window has seen this rivalry renewed, with Sunderland hijacking Leeds’ deal for Habib Diarra.
However, the Peacocks can now get their revenge on the Black Cats.

According to Corriere della Sera, page 8 (31 July), Leeds want to sign Artem Dovbyk.
The Roma want £34.5m for the striker, with Villarreal also in the race.
As a result, the Italian side are preparing for potential replacements and have identified Guiu as a potential target.
Therefore, if Leeds do sign Dovbyk, it could cause big problems for Sunderland in their pursuit of the Spaniard.
How good is Guiu?
Many Sunderland fans will be forgiven if they know little about Guiu.
The 19-year-old only moved to Chelsea in 2024, with nine of his 16 appearances coming in international competitions.
However, in the Europa Conference League, the striker impressed, as he netted six times in nine appearances, helping the London club win the competition.
According to Sofascore (31 July), Guiu has multiple impressive stats that suggest he could do a job at Sunderland.
