‘Le Bris to thank’ as Sunderland in advanced talks to land Liverpool target

Sunderland have wasted no time in upgrading their squad for the Premier League.

The Black Cats have already signed Enzo Le Fee after his successful loan at the Stadium of Light last season.

On top of this, Sunderland have now brought in Habib Diarra for a record fee

And Regis Le Bris is aiming to once again use his connections in France to strengthen his squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

Sunderland in talks to sign Arthur Avom Ebong

With Le Bris spending the majority of his career in France, it is no surprise that he is looking towards this market to find bargains.

According to Africa Foot (1 July), the manager is keen to raid his former side FC Lorient to sign Arthur Avom Ebong.

The 20-year-old was one of the French club’s key players last season as he made 32 appearances on their way to promotion to Ligue 1.

During this time, the midfielder – known well to Le Bris – scored twice and picked up six assists.

With the Cameroonian’s contract set to expire next year, clubs have taken an interest in the youngster, including Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, the report claims that Sunderland are now in “advanced discussions” to sign the midfielder, who is likely to be offered a four-year contract.

Le Bris’ connections pay off again

While there is no doubt that Le Bris is a fantastic manager at the Stadium of Light, his connections in the transfer market often go under the radar.

This could prove to be vital in this campaign if the Black Cats are to stay in the Premier League, as these signings will likely make the difference.

Now, Le Bris needs to make sure that he gets these deals over the line before another club swoops in.

Hopefully, from here, the manager can attract more players to Sunderland to strengthen them further before the transfer window ends.
