Jude Bellingham sends message to Dan Neil after dramatic Sunderland win

Jude Bellingham was watching on as Sunderland secured their spot in the play-off final in dramatic fashion against Coventry City.

Sunderland‘s fairytale of a season goes on after the Black Cats secured a 3-2 aggregate victory against Coventry courtesy of Dan Ballard.

After an immense display at the CBS Arena, Ballard once again proved to be the difference for the Wearsiders, scoring a 122nd-minute equaliser to send Sunderland to Wembley, and fans into absolute delirium.

Amad Diallo was one of those who reacted to the win at the Stadium of Light, and it seems like Bellingham enjoyed it just as much.

Sunderland edge closer to Premier League return

It has been nine years since Sunderland were last in the Premier League, and after their win against the Sky Blues, they are now 90 minutes away from making a return.

It has been a marvellous season for the Black Cats, who, against all odds, have kept up to pace with the majority of the league, and could receive the reward for doing so in just 10 days time.

Neil has five contributions this season despite playing as a six for Sunderland.

Throughout the season, several players have stood up to the occasion, but perhaps very few as much as Dan Neil, who received a pleasant message from Real Madrid star Bellingham as a result.

Taking to Instagram after the win, Neil said: “What an atmosphere, what a night. One more to go… see you all at Wembley.”

Bellingham replied with the trademark ‘C’ emoji, a reference to Neil being a leader with the armband throughout the campaign.

Premier League football could return to Wearside

Sunderland supporters have been starved of success for nearly a decade now, but ever since the installation of Kyril Louis-Dreyfus as chairman and owner, the Wearsiders have been on the up.

However, they will not want all of this progress to amount to nothing, and it is imperative that they play to the best of their ability at Wembley.

Despite picking up 92 points this season, Sheffield United are not something to be afraid of, with the next 10 days shaping up for something special.
