Jude Bellingham responds to Jobe message away from Sunderland

Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham was in action for the England Under-21s on Monday while older brother Jude was playing for Thomas Tuchel’s senior side.

Both Bellingham brothers enjoyed victories, as Jobe beat Portugal Under-21s 4-2, whereas Jude and the senior side defeated Latvia 3-0.

The Sunderland maestro played a starring role for Lee Carsley’s Young Lions at The Hawthorns by notching an assist in the win.

But his attention will now turn to the Mackems’ Championship encounter with Millwall on Saturday amid their efforts to bounce back from the 3-0 defeat they suffered to Coventry last time out.

Bellingham brothers embrace after England victories

Sunderland’s Bellingham has done well to notch four goals and three assists in the Championship this term, but still has a long way to go if he is intent on following Real Madrid superstar Jude’s footsteps.

After his encounter with the Portugal Under-21s, Jobe posted on Instagram: “A good way to end an enjoyable time away” next to an England flag emoji.

Older brother Jude shared his approval in the comments section, where he left three flame emojis.

Sunderland could face an uphill battle to keep Bellingham

Bellingham has established himself as one of the best young talents in the Championship and has consequently been eyed by the likes of Premier League giants Chelsea.

Amid such high-profile interest in his services, Regis Le Bris’ men could face an uphill battle in keeping him at the Stadium of Light this summer.

Jobe Bellingham has been a stand-out performer for Sunderland

The 19-year-old is well on his way to matching last season’s career best of eight goal contributions, with playoff football almost guaranteed at the Stadium of Light this season.

While he has not scored since December, it is clear to see that Bellingham is consistently improving in Sunderland colours, which is why he has attracted suitors in the transfer market from the Premier League.

It will be difficult for Le Bris and Co to stave off transfer advances from top-flight giants such as Chelsea, which may only be possible by winning promotion to the Premier League themselves.
