Jobe Bellingham transfer stance emerges as West Ham United eye Sunderland ace

West Ham have been linked with a move for Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham although the Black Cats are “confident” that they can retain their key players, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report in the print edition of the outlet (20 November, pg56) states that Jobe is in “no hurry to quit the club” despite several transfer links.

Borussia Dortmund have expressed a strong interest in the midfielder (The Sun) with the Germain giants looking to replicate the path of his brother, Jude Bellingham.

Keeping Jobe Bellingham would be best Sunderland business

Ultimately, unless you’re a top-six club, a time will come when you are forced into selling your best players as is the food chain in English football.

Fortunately for Sunderland, that time will not be in January with Jobe contracted to the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2028, they simply do not need to sell.

Jobe’s strong contract situation puts the Black Cats in an excellent position when it comes to negating any potential sale and they won’t be lowballed in January.

Jobe is one of the most important players at the club and his role in the side will be crucial to their promotion hopes, the club cannot entertain any prospect of selling him unless a ludicrous amount of money is involved.

The £20 million deal Dortmund have been linked with won’t cut it for a player who has showcased himself as one of the best players in the Championship this season.
