Jobe ‘sends clear warning to Sunderland’ after what he did v Millwall

Jobe Bellingham played a crucial role for Sunderland as they picked up a big three points at home to Millwall on Saturday.

Sunderland still have promotion in their sight, though, unless there is a dramatic turn of events in the final seven games, it seems as though any chances will have to be found via the playoffs.

However, for a playoff spot to be all but sealed at this stage in the season, it shows just how well the Black Cats have fared this season, when many would not have anticipated them occupying a top six spot.

Throughout that period, Jobe has played a crucial role for Sunderland, and it was no different against Alex Neil’s Millwall side.

Sunderland cannot afford to lose Jobe this summer

Jobe is a wanted man at Sunderland, and regardless of whether the Black Cats achieve promotion or not, there will be bids made for the teenager in the summer.

However, his performance against the Lions sent a clear warning to Sunderland: do not sell at any cost.

Via FotMob, the 19-year-old completed 90 per cent of his 41 attempted passes in the game, failing to hit the target with just four of them.

Despite his role being more important in transition, Jobe also created two chances in the game, while contributing effectively off the ball.

Two of his three attempted tackles resulted in him winning possession of the ball, while winning a remarkable seven out of his nine defensive duels in the game, eight of which were on the ground.

Jobe has years of development ahead of him, while already being at an excellent standard, showcasing just how crucial it will be for Sunderland to retain his services this summer.

Regis Le Brris has a crucial role to play for Sunderland

Especially given this is his first job in England, Regis Le Bris is doing a fine job, and if he can find a way to maintain momentum for Sunderland, it could end with success.

Seven huge games remain for the Mackems, who will be keen to return to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation almost eight years ago.
