Jobe Bellingham reacts to Trent Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool message

Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham has been a key player for the Mackems in the Championship this season.

The 19-year-old has notched four goals and three assists in 37 games this season, helping the Mackems secure an early play-off spot already.

Regis Le Bris’ men are looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats to Swansea and Bristol City with a victory over Blackburn on Easter Monday.

Meanwhile, Bellingham could leave the Stadium of Light this summer if the North East giants don’t win promotion to the Premier League, amid transfer interest from Chelsea.

Bellingham reacts to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool message

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold appears set to leave the Reds in favour of a move to Real Madrid once his contract at Anfield expires this summer.

But he handed Liverpool fans a reminder of his ability on Sunday, when he scored the winning goal against Leicester City in the Premier League.

Alexander-Arnold wrote on Instagram: “Special moments”, and Bellingham gave the post a like.

Sunderland must get back on form

The Black Cats are all but guaranteed to finish fourth in the Championship table and will consequently compete in this season’s playoffs.

However, Sunderland must look to get back on form with a victory over Blackburn Rovers on Monday, as they will need to head into the playoffs in good form to bolster their chances of booking a spot in next campaign’s Premier League.

Le Bris’ men have not managed a victory since their 1-0 triumph over fellow top-six hopefuls West Brom on 5 April, and must look to get back on track.

The Stadium of Light faithful will be keen to see their side promoted back to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation from the top flight in 2017.

But if the Mackems lose to Blackburn and consequently endure three consecutive defeats, they will risk entering the playoffs with a serious lack of momentum behind them.

Bellingham will likely take inspiration from his brother, Jude, who Alexander-Arnold may be jetting off to join sooner rather than later.
